There are several possibilities for driving from London to Ulaanbaatar. Whichever route we choose, we will drive across more than 1/3 of the earths surface – which is about 40 000 km at the equator.

It is impossible to determine the route a long time ahead, due to security reasons in different countries. We also want to be as flexible as possible to stop where we want along the way.

This is the route we want to take:
England – France – Italy – Slovenia – Croatia – Bosnia and Herzegovina – Montenegro – Albania – Macedonia – Bulgaria – Turkey – Iran – Turkmenistan – Uzbekistan – Kyrgyzstan – Kazakhstan – Russia – Mongolia.

We ended up with Greece in place of Bulgaria, simply because we love Greece, and because we had the chance to visit the author Tove Fasting. A good choice. Otherwise, we exceeded the number of travel days in both Albania, Turkey, Iran and Mongolia. We have so many memories of lasting moments from those places.

One Response to “Where?”
  1. Hi there! We signed in Mongol Rally rather than Mongolia Charity Rally (we didn’t know that one), but the goal is the same, and also the route is similar to ours! So good luck to all of you! It seems like you’ll be leaving earlier than we do, so I’ll check out your blog to see how you do.. What vehicle are you taking?
